Event Day Information
Course update - Course directors standing by the cinder cone of Mt. Tabor. They have just finished running the course twice. They guarantee the 5K is measured within an inch - and the 10k is within 2 inches. The say the course is one of the most beautiful they have run. It is simple for some, challenging for others. Overall, what a great course! They will have at least 60 directional signs on the course - nobody has a chance of getting lost.
The University of Portland and Brigham Young University basketball teams are playing their first game as foes in the West Coast Conference on February 4, 2012. Organizations from the two universities are inviting the public to 'gather together' for several events on February 4. Uberthons previous-events participants are also invited to experience this wonderful venue and event.
Event medals: First 100 registrations receive an Event medal. Others receive a Finishers medal.
Medic The American Medical Response team will have an ambulance and medic on site.
Registrations: Runners have registered who live in the following cities: Aloha, Brush Prairie, Canby, Clackamas, Forest Grove, Hillsboro, Portland, St. Helens, Sherwood, Tigard, Vancouver.
The morning event is a Kids Race, 1k, 5k, and 10k on Mt. Tabor in SE Portland. This course has been run most recently by Uberthons on October 15, 2011. Course records for the M-5k, F-5k, M-10k, and F-10k were set. However, the event is not being run for strictly competition - tell that to the two schools - the event is For Fun, For Competition, and For Fitness. Everyone is in one of these categories, so come and enjoy. At the event, you will want to purchase a pancake breakfast for $4.00. Pancakes, sausages, toppings, 100% fruit juice, and hot chocolate.
The afternoon event is a tour of the University of Portland campus. Folks in small tour groups will be shown several campus buildings, and will learn about the history of the university. Ask questions - this is a place of learning! Please indicate on the registration page your preference of time for your tour.
The pre-game event is a catered affair at 5 PM to 6:45 PM. Space is limited, so you will want to register early. More information on registering for this affair will be given soon.
The GAME! promises to be a thriller. Both teams have restocked with excellent shooters, defenders, passers, and rebounders. Make this game a top priority. Pack the house with Pilots and Cougars.

Timing equipment - Uberthons uses Uberthons timing equipment. Overhead RFID antennas capture your time using disposable chips that are fastened to the back of your racing bib. Chips and timing equipment are manufactured by Innovative Timing Systems - innovativetimingsystems.com.

Two water stations are positioned on the course - the first is 1.07 miles (1.75k), and the second is 2.6 miles (4.18k); a third is at the finish line. For your safety, absolutely no dogs, bikes, or inline skates are allowed on the course. Each mile is clearly marked on the course. The 10k course is an exact duplicate of the 5k course. You may run, walk, or bike the course anytime prior to the event. Mt. Tabor Park is closed to vehicular traffic on Wednesdays. A Course for strollers has been added; you may see this course by clicking on this link:

Uberthons - Uberthons is a complete event-management company. With several timing systems in place, Uberthons can produce and time events with thousands of runners and walkers. All runners are given a disposable chip - runners take the chip home. The name of the participant is displayed on large monitors as he or she crosses the finish line. In addition, names and times are shown on large monitors the instant the runner crosses the finish line.
Uberthons produced and timed events in Seattle and Portland during 2011 at amazing venues. Some of the venues were:
- Heron Lakes Golf Club.

- Portland International Raceway
- Champoeg Park
- Cook Park with Durham and Tualatin Parks
- Magnuson Park in Seattle
Events scheduled in 2012 include these venues and more. Events you will not want to miss are:
- Two Mothers/Daughters Mothers' Day Saturday events will be held in Southeast and Southwest Portland.
- July 4th Firecracker Run.
- The Portland Turkeython Series promises to be the largest event in the area.
- Several other NCAA events are scheduled for venues in Boise, Seattle, Salt Lake, and Uberthons is even toying with an event in South Bend, Indiana and Glens Falls, New York.
During 2011, three Uberthons events received local television coverage. Because Uberthons event participants have asked, Uberthons will bring about 30 events to the Portland area and 10 or more to the Seattle area during 2012. We love what we do!
