The morning event is a Kids Race, 1k, 5k, and 10k at Cook Park in Tigard. The course is run on parts of Durham Park and Tualatin Park. This course has been run most recently by Uberthons on January 21, 2012. Course records for the M-5k, F-5k, M-10k, and F-10k were set. However, the event is not being run for strictly competition - tell that to the two schools - the event is For Fun, For Competition, and For Fitness. Everyone is in one of these categories, so come and enjoy.

Additional Information

Parking - you may park anywhere in the park.

Course directors - The event is managed by Uberthons with the help of trained event directors from the two high schools, and others who have given of their time to be trained.

Timing equipment - Uberthons uses Jaquar timing equipment. Overhead RFID antennas capture you time using disposable chips that are fastened to the back of your racing bib. Take the chips home with you - you will not be asked to return the chips. Wear your bib on the upper chest to maximize the chip reads. Chips and timing equipment are manufactured by Innovative Timing Systems - innovativetimingsystems.com

Valuables - you should not bring valuables to the venue. No volunteers will take your possessions; no storage for any article at the event site.

Registrations - UberRegistrations - folks have registered for the Luckython who live in these cities:  

Aloha, Aurora, Beaverton, Bellingham, Canby, Clackamas, Dayton, Estacada, Gresham, Happy Valley, Hillsboro, Hood River, Keizer, King City, Lafayette, Lake Oswego, Longview, McMinnville, Oregon City, Portland, Sandy, Seattle, Sherwood, Sunnyside, Tigard, Troutdale, Tualatin, Turner, Vancouver, Warrenton, Washougal, West Line, Wilsonville!

Race course - the course has been tested by previous Uberthons runners. The entire course is on asphalt or hard-packet gravel. Directional signs are used to guide runners at over 60 points. Two water stations are positioned on the course - the first is 1.27 miles, and the second is 2.25 miles; a third is at the finish line. For your safety, absolutely no dogs, bikes, inline skates, or strollers are allowed on the course. Each mile is clearly marked on the course. The 10k course is an exact duplicate of the 5k course. You may run, walk, or bike the course anytime prior to the event.

Weather - March 17 weather historically has been mild. In 2011, the mean temperature was 42 degrees; 2010, the mean temperature was 48; 2009 the temperature was 46 degrees; and 2008 the temperature was 46 degrees. Almost perfect running weather! You should prepare for wet and cool weather just in case. Most of the time when we cross our fingers, it is a sunny day!

Photos - An event photographer director will coordinate photos stations at several points along the course. These photos are free, and may be downloaded from the facebook page www.facebook.com/uberthons and from the website.

Volunteering - The event can use over 30 volunteers. Please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you or a family member can volunteer during the event. A training meeting for all volunteers will be held two weeks prior to the event.

Bib Pick-up - You may pick-up your bibs and chips at at the race site beginning at 7 AM Saturday morning.  Make sure you have registered by 8:30 AM so the timer will be ready with the equipment.

Day-of-event registration - Day-of-event registration will cost $5.00 extra.

Results

• Results will be posted on this webpage throughout the event as participants are finishing.
• See your individual results streaming instantly near the timers tent at the finish line.

Uberthons - Uberthons is a complete event-management company. With several timing systems in place, Uberthons can produce and time events with thousands of runners and walkers. All runners are given a disposable chip - runners take the chip home. The name of the participant is displayed on large monitors as he or she crosses the finish line. In addition, names and times are shown on large monitors the instant the runner crosses the finish line.

Uberthons produced and timed events in Seattle and Portland during 2011 at amazing venues. Some of the venues were:

• Portland International Raceway
• Champoeg Park
• Cook Park with Durham and Tualatin Parks
• Magnuson Park in Seattle

Events scheduled in 2012 include these venues and more. Events you will not want to miss are:

• Two Mothers/Daughters Mothers' Day Saturday events will be held in Southeast and Southwest Portland.
• July 4th Firecracker Run.
• The Portland Turkeython Series promises to be the largest event in the area.
• An NCAA running event will occur in Corvallis, Oregon on October 19 in the afternoon.  This event is the Oregon State University Homecoming Run - the First Annual.  The whole town will be involved, and you will not want to miss the festivities!

During 2011, three Uberthons events received local television coverage. Because Uberthons event participants have asked, Uberthons will bring about 30 events to the Portland area and 10 or more to the Seattle area during 2012. We love what we do!

I just selected "home" on my fb screen, then clicked "events" on the left then Create Event on the upper part of my screen which opened an event window.  The I copied and pasted information from the main event page from Uberthons :-)  I was then provided a list of all my friend and I was able to select them individually and of course I selected the folks I predict the highest response from.
