Prior to the Oregon Marathon & Half, several would-be participants experienced injuries, death in the family, co-workers in accidents, and sickness. Some of you were at the event although you could not participate - you cheered on those who could run or walk, and you braved the elements of the typhoon. Some of you paid for airfare and hotels, and could not come because of events far away from Oregon. Those who asked about a make-up event will be given an opportunity to make up the event under the following terms. The registration fee you have already paid is valuable, and you should know that the Oregon Marathon appreciates your commitment to your sport. The Oregon Marathon also appreciates those who trained, ran, and braved the elements and your support for the entire Oregon Marathon family - those who registered for the inaugural Oregon Marathon & Half, and ran, and those who had life-changing events that precluded them from attending the actual event. We come together as a family to support each other.
The Oregon Marathon & Half has added a Typhoon Makeup Marathon & Half for those who wish to be part of the Oregon Marathon & Half. The weather was absolutely dreadful, absolutely soaking wet, absolutely fun, fun, fun. But, what a way to spend some time together as an Oregon Marathon & Half Family! There are some real Typhoonathoners in the area! Tough, tough, tough!
For those who - for good reason - were unable to attend, we announce the Typhoon Make Up Marathon & Half. Register for Typhoon Make Up Oregon Marathon & Half by going to this LINK. Run your event by yourself or with a friend during the next 60 days, in October or November, 2013. You may not run in another event to have your run count as an Oregon Marathon & Half event.
