Yoncalla High School, Yoncalla
November 23, 2017
Managed by Uberthons
The most popular day of the year to get out and run, to help burn extra calories before the big feast. Start line and finish line at the high school in Yoncalla.
The course is mostly flat and fast. This course will have some of the fastest times recorded in all of the Northwest on Thanksgiving morning. The 2017 event will certainly draw the area's top runners, and the best looking participants!
5K timed Turkeython race
Kids untimed Turkeython race
The Turkeython was selected as one of 24 Must-do November/December running events in the U.S. by Competitor.com. Read more about it -
The 5k is manually timed - wear your bib on your chest so timing and photos will work perfectly. Muffin bar opens at 9:00 AM - we try not to fill you up on Thanksgiving morning - please, paid participants only. The Turkeython race directors are Jerry and Julie Mullins.
All 5k finishers receive the Turkeython finishers medal. Wear it to church, work, play, running, or swimming, or just hang it on your wall. Either way, display it with pride because you earned it.
Raise money for the 2018 Yoncalla Elementary School education trip to Washington D.C., and for the Volleyball West Yoncalla Volleyball Club by donating when you register.
Fastest three in each age group will be announced throughout the morning. Get your placer pin at the results tent.
The overall 1st, 2nd, & 3rd runners, Masters (age 45+) 1st, 2nd, & 3rd runners, and 1st 65+ will be awarded the special Uberthons overall award medal at the finish line. Both male and female receive the overall medals.
Turkeythoners in the past have dressed in turkey outfits, pilgrims, or Santa suits. Whatever you decide, you will want to dress warm.
